Ava Paley will be attending the University of Wisconsin this fall. During her time at SHUFFLES, Ava has performed in several May Shows, as well as multiple roles in Peter Pantomime including a Lost Boy, the Croc, and Tiger Lily! She says what she will miss most about SHUFFLES when she leaves for college is the community it’s given her because “it’s been a second home to [her] where [she] has made lifelong friends.”
While being a SHUFFLES student, Ava founded the nonprofit Donate2Dance over 4 years ago, along with her sister and fellow SHUFFLES student, Sophia. Their mission is to help dancers in need by donating gently worn dance shoes, costumes and dancewear to dance schools in need across the country and world. To date, they have donated to over 40,000 dancers, shipping these items to dancers in need, working to fulfill their belief that “every child deserves the chance to dance.”
Finally, over the last two years, Ava has been teaching tap dance to students of Ballet Ghana over Zoom. Ballet Ghana, located in Accra, Ghana, is a partner of Donate2Dance, and now all know how to tap dance thanks to Ava’s teaching!
