SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Mia Zaslow

We are so proud of our graduating seniors and each year we feature them with a Senior Spotlight!

We asked each of our seniors a few questions about their time at Shuffles, read Mia Zaslow’s spotlight below:

  • What is your plan in the fall? Attending university? Traveling? Performing?

I will attend Duke University with intentions to study economics, public policy, and statistics!

  • What were your favorite parts/ performance features at Shuffles?

My favorite performance is a tie between “Opus One” in No Place Like Home because I was in the youngest class and excited to be included. The second is “Six” from Our State Fair because it was a small class and every week our “Spirit Tuesdays” were upbeat and fun!

  • What is your favorite memory from your time at Shuffles?

My favorite memories are the time spent with friends before and after shows. We love to get to the theater early to get ready and then after go out together to celebrate the weekend!

  • How has Shuffles impacted you today?

Shuffles has taught me how to be a leader and a model for those around me. Along with lessons of respect and community building, I’ve learned confidence is key. I now always know to be “strong and wrong” and make definitive choices. These lessons were instilled in me by my Shuffles teachers at a young age and will continue to help define my life in the future.

  • Anything else you’d like to share?

I will truly miss being a part of Shuffles weekly, performing, my friends, and teachers. I’m looking forward to sitting in the audience at next year’s show (I’ve never done that before)!
